There are no prerequisites. You don't need to have special skills or talents - just a desire for personal and spiritual growth, and for self-healing. From this, your journey may lead you to want to help others, and to heal this beautiful planet of ours.
For the Beginner
Before signing up for a workshop, ask yourself the following questions.
Are you ready to commence on the Reiki journey of self-discovery, personal and spiritual growth?
Why? Is it because -
* it will help you maintain the balance in your life?
* it will help centre you while you are undergoing difficulties right now?
* for the purpose of self-healing?
* for the purpose of healing others?
Do you have the time and commitment for daily practice in the form of self-treatments? It is believed that it takes 21 days for a habit to form or drop, so there needs to be dedicated practice during the initial 3-week period, and continuing regular practice thereafter. This helps to connect you better with the Reiki energy, and be sensitive to it. You are in fact clearing any blockages in your own source energy, enabling you to become a clearer channel for the energy to come through.

There are 3 Reiki Levels in the original Usui Reiki system of natural healing, and the majority of Master-Teachers follow this system. There are some independent Master-Teachers who teach 4 to 5 levels.
Reiki Level 1 is the entry point. This workshop will introduce you to Reiki and its history, how the system works, what it can for you and others. Following the attunement ritual given by the Master/Teacher to connect you with the energy, you are able to immediately channel it. Hands-on practice for self-treatment and treating others is an important part of Level 1, which is the prerequisite for Level 2.
Reiki Level 2 has its own attunement ritual, which further enhances the energetic vibrations of the student. 3 Reiki symbols are taught at this level to increase the power of the healing energy, to heal at the mental and emotional levels, to conduct absent healing and send healing across distance and time. Additional healing techniques will be taught. At this level, the Reiki student may begin to work intuitively, at a higher energetic vibration. After this workshop, and with work experience, the student is ready to commence business at the practitioner level and charge for services to clients. Business practices will be discussed at this workshop. Level 2 is a prerequisite for attaining the Mastership level.
Some independent Masters/Teachers may introduce an Advanced Reiki course sandwiched between Level 2 and Level 3a.
Reiki Level 3 is the Master/Teacher level. Some Masters/Teachers divide this level into two courses - 3A and 3B. Level 3A may be for some Level 2 students who undertake Master studies for their own satisfaction and to increase their knowledge of advanced healing techniques, but decide not to teach, so they do not learn to pass on attunements. Level 3B is for those who want to teach. I do only one combined Level 3, conducting the Master attunement, and teaching the process of passing on attunements for all three levels.
